here is a quick tutorial on how to get the file sharing program Azureus to work in conjunction with your PS3. this will allow you to share files from your PC to your PS3 such as movies, music, photo's and anything else the PS3 supports. as far as i know the only movie files i could get to work on my PS3 were the file type .mpg i know .avi and .mp4 didnt work (it'll just say unsupported data where the file your trying to play is located) i hope this helps in getting you on your way.

Your PS3 might be a little different depending on board revision (early boards had a seperate on/off + eject module and 2 little screws that hold the SATA data + power to the metal shield). Take mental note of how it all goes together, as well as where the longer screws are.

PS3 Data Transfer Utility

This is a very quick video on how to use the data transfer utility feature. This feature allows you to copy/transfer everything from one PS3 to another - That includes downloaded titles, DLC, all your media and game saves (even protected files). I tried cramming all the information into 10 steps; * Source PS3 = Where you're transferring from. * Destination PS3 = Where you're transferring to. 1. Update both systems to 3.15 or up. 2. Hook both systems to your TV. 3. Deactivate the source PS3. 4. Activate the destination PS3. 5. Turn off systems. Link both systems with Ethernet cable. 6. Turn both systems back on. 7. Go to Data Transfer Utility, proceed and select option 1. 8. Switch TV source to destination PS3. 9. Repeat step 7, except choose option 2. 10. Let the destination PS3 format. Personal result; In my case, I was still able to access my old PS3. Apparently, after using this feature, the source PS3 is supposed to be formatted automatically so that there isn't any potential game sharing going on (I think). I could still use my source PS3, strangely. However, I did do a full system restore anyway. Song: "Low-Beam" by Red Snapper.
