Take mental note of how it all goes together, as well as where the longer screws are.

This is a very quick video on how to use the data transfer utility feature. This feature allows you to copy/transfer everything from one PS3 to another - That includes downloaded titles, DLC, all your media and game saves (even protected files). I tried cramming all the information into 10 steps; * Source PS3 = Where you're transferring from. * Destination PS3 = Where you're transferring to. 1. Update both systems to 3.15 or up. 2. Hook both systems to your TV. 3. Deactivate the source PS3. 4. Activate the destination PS3. 5. Turn off systems. Link both systems with Ethernet cable. 6. Turn both systems back on. 7. Go to Data Transfer Utility, proceed and select option 1. 8. Switch TV source to destination PS3. 9. Repeat step 7, except choose option 2. 10. Let the destination PS3 format. Personal result; In my case, I was still able to access my old PS3. Apparently, after using this feature, the source PS3 is supposed to be formatted automatically so that there isn't any potential game sharing going on (I think). Mass Effect 2... Well, With An Unintended Effect

ME2 (purchased from Gamestop) on a 3.56 F/W updated 160 GB PS3 Slim. After getting off the elevator on the fourth floor of the Normandy, this somehow happened. I have no idea what triggered it. What's Under the Hood

As with previous models, the PlayStation 3 160 GB system features an IBM "Cell" processor and a co-developed NVIDIA graphics processor that together allow the system to perform two trillion calculations per second. Yet the 160 GB system manages to improve on this with its 45nm version of the processor, which although running at the same 60+nm speed as previous PS3 versions, uses less energy. This makes the unit's smaller size and quieter fan possible. Along with the traditional AV and composite connections, the 160 GB system also boasts an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port, which delivers uncompressed, unconverted digital picture and sound to compatible high-definition TVs and projectors. (The system is capable of 128-bit pixel precision and 1080p resolution for a full HD experience) This console also provides for an extreme sound experience by supporting Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1, as well as Linear PCM 7.1. Finally, it features cross connectivity with your PC network and PlayStation Portable (PSP) and its pre-installed, 160 GB hard disc drive allows you to save games as well as download content from the Internet.

Blu-ray, PlayStation Network Downloads and Beyond

What's Under the Hood

As with previous models, the PlayStation 3 160 GB system features an IBM "Cell" processor and a co-developed NVIDIA graphics processor that together allow the system to perform two trillion calculations per second. Yet the 160 GB system manages to improve on this with its 45nm version of the processor, which although running at the same 60+nm speed as previous PS3 versions, uses less energy. This makes the unit's smaller size and quieter fan possible. Along with the traditional AV and composite connections, the 160 GB system also boasts an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port, which delivers uncompressed, unconverted digital picture and sound to compatible high-definition TVs and projectors. (The system is capable of 128-bit pixel precision and 1080p resolution for a full HD experience) This console also provides for an extreme sound experience by supporting Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1, as well as Linear PCM 7.1. Finally, it features cross connectivity with your PC network and PlayStation Portable (PSP) and its pre-installed, 160 GB hard disc drive allows you to save games as well as download content from the Internet.
